    Responsibilities

    What you will be doing

     

    The Director of Revenue Recognition is responsible for both the Billing and Accounts Receivable teams. As you can imagine, both departments have major accounting, month end, and system ownership responsibilities. In this role, you will maximize relationships though a high volume of interactions with franchisee owners, operators and direct bill customers. Franchise Administration and Legal are both key internal stakeholders as you will work with them to recommend defaults, payment plans, as well as possible terminations. Reporting to the VP Accounting/Controller, the Director sets the strategic goals as well as tactical objectives for each department.

    • Formulate and direct the activities of the departments to accomplish organizational objectives, departmental and individual goals
    • Appraise performance of staff, communicate results, handle personnel discipline matters, interviews and hiring
    • Lead and direct teams to deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers
    • Establish business relationships with franchisee and direct bill customers
    • Provide guidance to Managers in prioritizing their tasks for maximizing productivity of resources and in developing their managerial skills
    • Ensure meaningful, accurate, and timely KPI’s are prepared to identify, address and escalate issues

    Qualifications

    What we are searching for

    Key attributes required are both the willingness to dig into details while retaining the ability to assess the big picture, effective communication at all levels of the organization and good judgment to identify, assess and resolve issues within the department as well as with other internal and external parties. In addition:

    • Read and interpret documents and instructions from customers, vendors, and other Team Members
    • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other Team Members
    • Multi-task and prioritize workload
    • Work within the appropriate level of independence
    • Function in a fast-paced environment
    • If applicable, ability to travel for meetings with customers, vendors, other Team Members, and/or other business necessities

    We feel the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline, CPA preferred
    • 10 or more years of service industry based accounting experience including 7 years managing professional and hourly staff
    • Strong background in accounts receivable, credit and collection, technical accounting, and financial statement interpretation
    • 5 or more years’ experience in accounting within a high volume, multi-store, large corporation is required
    • Experience with internal and external customers, skilled at balancing customer service with the need to achieve corporate profits
    • Very high attention to detail, organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle Financials
