    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    National Sales Account Executives’ primary objectives are to attain new clients for the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands and to grow business from existing accounts currently using M6/S6 lodging.  The National Sales Account Executive represents the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands/all locations, owned and franchised and is primarily responsible for developing business from companies that travel nationwide and utilize multiple properties/locations. This position will meet/achieve assigned revenue goals from an assigned geographic territory and/or an assigned market segment, or both.  The purpose of this position is to increase room sales, revenues and profitability for the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands and locations. This position is responsible for an assigned territory and base of accounts and acts as the National Sales contact for customers/companies headquartered in the assigned territory.  This position also supports G6 brands/locations (owned and franchised) in their assigned territory and provides G6 sales training and education on G6 sales programs and national CP program.

     

    The account executive will cover an assigned territory (*) to include the Northern California area, Washington State and Canada.  Position is based in the assigned territory and is remote/home office based. Preferred candidate existing residence in Northern California (LA, San Francisco). * Territory Subject to revision

     

    Prior hotel sales knowledge of the designated region/customer base is preferred.  Previous experience representing a national hotel brand is preferred.  The position will travel up to 75% of the time making outside sales calls in all areas of their region and assigned locations. The position includes attending trades shows, and other business generating events. 

     

    The position requires advanced communication skills and the ability to use independent judgment in regards to B2B sales potential.   This is a multi-task position requiring advanced sales skills combined with strong organizational and time management skills.  Candidate must be able to handle a variety of duties and tasks with minimal supervision, and effectively manage multiple priorities.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop a Sales Action Plan for the assigned territory or market segment and update the plan on a quarterly basis. 
    • Make sales calls via telephone and in person on potential clients and existing accounts
    • Prepare and present sales proposals and brand presentations to potential and existing clients
    • Communicate sales activities and results to supervisor via the department’s protocol which includes reports, database entry, telephone calls, e-mail and in- person meetings.
    • Penetrate national accounts to attain rooms sales from all areas of the clients’ businesses
    • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with clients and G6 locations in the assigned territory or market segment
    • Provide sales support for G6 locations (owned and franchised) on G6 sales programs
    • Maintain accurate and complete records of all sales activities in the Goldmine database
    • Represent the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands at trade shows and/or industry functions
    • Participate in team projects, conference calls and perform duties as assigned by supervisor
    • Achieve account and revenue goals as established by management of the Sales Department

    Qualifications

    • Advanced written and oral communication skills
    • Advanced selling skills and knowledge of national B2B sales
    • Strong organizational/time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
    • Must be proficient in meeting deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Goldmine or CRM
    • The ability for overnight travel, up to 75% possible.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a national brand hotel sales position, environment or equivalent (national or corporate sales)
