    What you will be doing


    Reporting to the VP of US Franchise Development, the newly created The Managing Director, U.S. Franchise Development will assist in executing the organization’s franchise growth strategy. Proactive research and identification of effective methods for developing a dominant brand presence will be key responsibilities, as well as leading a team of Franchise Developers to exceed company growth goals. oversee the successful execution of individual territory business plans and assist Developers in deal negotiation and driving deal closings.

    • Collaborates with VP of U.S. Franchise Development to execute franchise growth strategy
    • Manages up to 4 Franchise Developers and is accountable for their performance in assigned territory
    • Coaches, mentors and monitors Developer performance to ensure company growth goals are met while creating a best in class Development team
    • Reviews and approves new hotel project viability, negotiated deal terms and property improvement plans; ensuring mutual success for franchisees and Motel 6 / Studio 6 brands
    • Ensures Developer adherence to sales process, systems and tools to ensure successful franchisee integration to Motel 6 / Studio 6 brands
    • Makes recommendations and modifications, as appropriate, regarding the company’s image and competitive position as it relates to franchise activities within the assigned region

    • Ability to build effective relationships, internally and externally
    • Ability to train, coach and grow develop team
    • Ability to multi-task, self-manage and interact effectively with stakeholders of various disciplines and levels
    • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
    • Problem solver, creative, sharp thinker, business-savvy, proactive
    • Strong negotiation skills and ability to engage in complex financial discussions with prospective business partners
    • Methods of determining lodging market supply/demand characteristics and hotel development feasibility

    We feel the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

    • B.S. Business, Management, Marketing or related discipline
    • 7+ years in sales force management with strong leadership competencies
    • Strong knowledge of hotel industry and operations
    • Prior market development experience
    • Prior direct sales experience in hotel franchise development
