    G6 Hospitality is seeking a Performance Engineer to join our IT team in a role that will be focused on the continuous implementation, configuration, management, analysis and reporting on systems health using a variety of advanced tools. We maintain an extensive array of systems including e-commerce, central reservations, property management, revenue management, financial operations, and more. We use a variety of tools to monitor these systems for general health, availability, and performance.

    Responsibilities

    • Instrument monitoring solutions to gain insight into application performance and understand emerging issues.
    • Help define monitoring standards, appropriate thresholds, and synthetic transaction monitoring as appropriate for different systems.
    • Contributes to the development of test objectives and performance related requirements.
    • Works with Quality team to monitor test scenarios.
    • Works with IT Teams to track and drive resolution of issues discovered during the quality process.
    • Responsible for creating project deliverables including performance test reports and performance dashboards.
    • Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance with Performance Test process policies, procedures and diagrams of the performance needed.
    • Gathers business key metrics and volumetrics and assembles workload and transaction information for performance monitoring.
    • Participate in conference calls and meetings for load/volume/smoke tests, in a role to be sure the systems are appropriately monitored during such tests so that results can be properly analyzed.
    • Monitors system performance on Linux/Unix environments as it relates to G6 Hospitality.
    • Administer a secure and stable Linux/Unix server environment with acceptable performance.
    • Ensure proper service levels are being met and that a high level of customer satisfaction is being maintained.
    • Continue to improve server/application performance with increasing reliability and availability while maintaining or reducing costs.
    • Develop standard system builds to meet corporate policy and industry standards.
    • Work with DevelopmentApplication, Networking, and Security teams to develop appropriate infrastructure for applications.
    • Drive infrastructure design to implementation.
    • Helps architect and implement solutions to address complicated application challenges around performance, scaling, and security
    • Work on a small team as a self-starter, a go-getter.
    • Read and interpret documents and instructions from customers, vendors, and other Team Members.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other Team Members.
    • Work with the appropriate level of independence on projects of high complexity.
    • Open to work after hours or weekends as necessary

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience
    • 7+ years experience in the IT Industry
    • 3+ years familiarity with Java, REST services and web technologies with Cloud technologies 
    • Experience in environments containing Oracle databases, Informix, JBoss, Apache, Resin, Tomcat and similar systems
    • 5+ Years supporting Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
    • Experience with Red Hat Satellite server preferred
    • Experience with Red Hat IPA server preferred
    • Familiarity with network technologies such as DNS, Routing, and Subnets 
    • Experience leading performance monitoring and follow through successful investigation, analysis and root-cause identification and resolution of issues.
    • Experience working in an Agile, Dev-Ops Environment
    • Excellent organizational skills to include: scheduling, monitoring, tracking, reporting and follow through.
    • Experience working with edge suites such as Akamai 
    • Presentation, facilitation, analytical and problem solving experience
    • Experience with System and Application monitoring tools such as:Nagios, Solar Winds, and Dynatrace 
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Dynatrace - must have installing/setting up/confguring experience
    • PCI Audits experience required
    • Dockers/Kubernetes experience
    • REST API Services experience
    • Virtualization experience required
    • Experience monitoring Java apps i.e. Garbage Collection
    • Ability to foster a sense of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
    • Ability to work effectively with partners from varied and diverse backgrounds
