    Responsibilities

    About the role:           

     

    This position plays a critical leadership role in the success of our owned/operated assets.  The Division Vice President, Operations (DVPO) enables successful performance in partnership with key stakeholders, including: private equity ownership, corporate peers, regional field leadership and property team members.  The DVPO is responsible for the driving the overall direction, execution, and oversight of the Division's initiatives, in alignment with the enterprise’s goals and objectives. A keen focus of the DVPO will be on development of regional management to ensure delivery of consistent quality and value to our guests and team members. The achievements of revenue, profit, and quality goals are also an essential component of this role -- in addition to ensuring a safe, secure and hospitable environment for Motel guests and team members.

     

    The DVPO will oversee a geographical area consisting of the Western half of the US, (220+ hotels and over 25,000 rooms), including direct supervision of multiple Vice Presidents Operations and Directors of Operations. In addition, the DVPO is also responsible for ensuring Brand compliance, conducting property visits, developing partner relationships, and maintaining consistency in quality and value throughout the entire Brand.  Additionally, the DVPO will serve on the Operations Committee and collaborate with an enterprise peer network to guide the operational direction of the company.

    Qualifications

    About the candidate

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent business experience
    • 10+ years of experience as a multi-unit Operations manager, preferably in the hospitality industry
    • Ability to travel up to 80%
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing change and demonstrating flexibility in planning and problem solving
    • Demonstrated experience to balance between strategic leadership and managing the execution of deliverables
    • Strong organization skills
    • Proven ability to articulate and influence a a diverse group of stakeholders, including Executive Management and parent company constituents, preferably in the private equity arena
    • Excellent relationship building skills to build strong relationships across functions, both field, corporate, and local communities
    • P&L experience and comprehensive understanding of complex financial and industry-related indices/metrics
    • Strong motivation skills
    • Superior team member communications and guest relations abilities
    • Computer proficiency, including: Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
