    The Billing Department is responsible for invoicing customers and ensuring the revenue being billed is recognized in accordance with U.S. GAAP guidelines and literature for G6 Hospitality.

    The Revenue Recognition and Billing Manager will manage a team of employees that process information to create invoices that are sent to our customers and franchisees.  The manager will play a key role in supporting and understanding the revenue recognition standard and related effects on the company’s accounting practices and oversee the on-going development of revenue recognition processes and systems. This person reviews all department processes, reconciliations and reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing and revenue recognition while maintaining good customer relationships. The Manager must understand how the billing and accounts receivable systems and related interfaces work.  Collaborating with the Accounts Receivable Manager is required to ensure consistent messaging and experiences for our customers and franchisees. Other responsibilities include assisting with month end close, answering P&L questions and assisting staff members with issues as they arise.

    As a Manager, this person assists in making decisions regarding staffing and provides feedback to Team Members on performance. The manager will set performance goals for team members and prepare performance evaluations. They must provide the skills to communicate, motivate, and train their team to develop the staff to achieve departmental and company initiatives. This position will report to the Accounts Receivable Director.

    • Lead the operational transition to the New Revenue Standard (ASC 606), working closely with the Technical Accounting team.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of authoritative accounting guidance on Revenue Recognition and provide guidance to staff on proper accounting treatment
    • Implement revenue recognition reporting and process improvements based upon industry trends, authoritative literature and business objectives. Coordinate with other departments to implement solutions
    • Establishing controls necessary to ensure that revenue, deferred revenue balances and revenue accounting are compliant with company policy and US GAAP
    • Provide training to cross functional organizations including sales, legal, development and openings as it pertains to Revenue recognition and billing
    • Collaborate with development, legal, information technology and openings to provide solutions to invoicing incentives, fees and other revenue lines they are developing
    • Review customer contracts to identify accounting issues and to ensure they are aligned with the company’s revenue recognition policies and US GAAP (ASC 606): Flat Fees, time & Materials, percentage of completion, Service fees, etc.
    • Identify and allocate contract elements to the proper revenue line
    • Maintain monthly schedules for billing and to reconcile to P&L and balance sheet accounts.
    • Provide support to departmental managers and other finance personnel in the preparation and understanding of financial information.
    • Assist with month end close process accurately and timely in conjunction with corporate deadlines.
    • Recommend journal entries, allocations, and adjustments to ensure proper revenue recognition in conjunction with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle
    • Assist with preparing technical accounting memos as it pertains to revenue recognition
    • Perform periodic audits for proper revenue recognition, data entry and billing accuracy
    • Responsible for developing and publishing Oracle BI Analytics dashboards and reports
    • Responsible for Oracle accounts receivable as super user for data accuracy  and system enhancements/upgrades
    • Responsible for understanding Oracle accounts receivable functionality including system setups
    • Support and comply with requests from both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
    • All other duties as needed or required


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required 
    • MBA or CPA preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing
    • Knowledge of US GAAP and related Revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience required
    • Oracle R12 (Billing) knowledge preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Other productivity software tools including Excel vlookups and Pivot tables.
    • Excellent research and analytical skills
    • Solid negotiation and leadership skills
    • Must be adaptable to a changing environment
    • Self-Motivated and proactive
    • Meet deadlines assigned and be able to identify and escalate appropriately when there are problems
    • Effective communication skills with staff and upper management for problem solving and team development
