Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Database Services Teamt. Interact with all levels of Operatoins and Operations Support with the authority to escalate property issues to vice president of corporate or franchise operations regarding property information and property policy issues.  Maintain control and integrity of information contained within the central reservation system property control center, brand websites, Global Distribution Systems, and 3rd party systems, working to increase sales through consistent manipulation of data displayed to users.  Manages a staff of specialists responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the G6 property control center; manages their day to day performance and is able to fully perform all aspects of the specialist job, as required to meet the business needs. Coordinates and leads all testing efforts for projects within the E-Commerce department, including functional and end to end user testing, as requested .

  • Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Interview, supervise, coach and provide counsel to GDS specialist positions.
  • Participates with immediate supervisor in interviewing, hiring and terminating Database Specialists
  • Responsible for the thorough and consistent assemblage and verification of property information into the CRS Property Control Center, Lanyon and brand websites, OTA databases, and any other system, as required for the business.
  • Maintain and update property room type change information; fulfills all floor plan change requests, and ensures that such changes are in compliance with brand standards and approval procedures are followed as set by the COO.
  • Conduct error and quality assurance measurements.
  • Create, edit, and updates database Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and onboarding training guides
  • Collaborates with Contact Center and IT Development for scheduled releases for new functionality to Property Control Center and with Distribution Services to enhance OTA database changes and maintenance.
  • Communicate data entry informational updates to Distribution Services, as needed.
  • Manages the testing of all new systems/software upgrades or other testing, as required.
  • Coordinates with various disciplines for development of project plans/timelines
  • Accountable for validation that end-to-end testing completed with proper documentation and sign-off.
  • Supports open communication and continuous improvement by providing feedback to management about potential opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing training to maximize individual performance and team productivity.
  • Collaborates and Liaises with distribution services, opening team, operations, franchisees, legal compliance, hotel property systems and the contact center operations to achieve brand strategic goals.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Reservations database
  • Job Requirements:
    • Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
    • Read and interpret documents and instructions from customers, vendors, and other Team Members
    • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other Team Members
    • Multi-task and prioritize workload
    • Work within the appropriate level of independence
    • Function in a fast-paced environment
    • Updates VP of database service’s needs, successes, challenges and issues that need escalation on a regular and routine basis.
    • If applicable, ability to travel for meetings with customers, vendors, other Team Members, and/or other business necessities



  • Minimum of 3 years experience in travel industry, reservations, GDS or electronic distribution management with multiple brand responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Detailed understanding of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Strong PC skills including Word and Excel. Ability to learn new programs, with minimal supervision, as required providing training and assistance to data specialist positions.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively communicate at many organizational levels, including non-exempt associates, management and outside contacts.
  • Knowledge of property operations and systems.
  • Knowledge of Central Reservations System, Property Management Systems, and other internal systems used within the e-Commerce Department.
  • Positive, friendly attitude; team player; and collaborative with peers and subordinates; non-territorial and has ability to invite feedback and criticism, if constructive.
  • Sound judgment in problem solving and assessing progress of Team Members.
  • Professional image, sense of urgency and excellent organization and planning skills.
